Wave Files

The files help with using the waveform recorder in Win95. You need perl to generate these files. Wave files are binary files, so the perl pack command is used.

I only have 8 bit sound files but other formats can be programmed in a similar way, including stereo.

Somewhere I have a document where I learned how to do all this. I'll try to find it.

• dump.pl doesn't really have anything to do with wave files, it just dumps a binary file.
• read_wav is a wave file reader.
• write_wav is a wave file writer. It is set up to write one of several types of files, depending on how the $note variable is set.
• sin.wav is a sample sound file.
• sininvx.wav is a sample sound file.
